Cumberland County was established in 1856 and the City of Crossville was incorporated in 1901. You will enjoy the many activities our community has to offer, including warm hospitality and friendly smiles.
Crossville is the “Golf Capital of Tennessee.” The area is home to some of Tennessee’s most famous vacation and retirement resorts: Wyndham at Fairfield Glade features 90 holes of championship golf; Stonehenge hosts the City of Crossville Tennessee Women’s Open and the Tennessee Men’s Senior Open; Lake Tansi Village hosts the Tennessee Men’s Team Championship; and the Jack Nicklaus designed Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain State Park is another excellent golfing experience. The climate atop Tennessee's Cumberland Plateau is enjoyable year-round. Winter temperatures are in the 40's and 50's, summer highs average in the 80's, and in the fall and spring temperatures are as close to perfect as can be. Crossville and Cumberland County are also centrally located right off Interstate 40 less than 90 minutes from Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga.
